New details revealed about the reasons behind Trump's cancellation of the military strike against Iran
In this Sky News Arabia interview, I challenged three narratives promoted by the Iranian regime and its supporters: that unrest is driven by foreign intelligence, that regime change would lead to chaos, and that Iranians are merely seeking reform. I argued that repeated protests since 2009 reflect deep public disillusionment, not external manipulation. Blaming outsiders deflects responsibility from state repression, while fear-based arguments are used to suppress genuine calls for change.

The Middle East today faces a true test of peace, amidst escalating international efforts to defuse tensions stretching from Gaza to Lebanon, and from the Red Sea to the Gulf. Statements from the participants conveyed a tone of optimism, but beneath the surface, mounting security, economic, and political concerns make peace seem more of a challenge than a viable option.
Dr. Robert Rabil on President Trump and Iran
In a rare moment at the Israeli Knesset, U.S. President Donald Trump publicly invited Iran to dialogue, signaling a potential realignment in the post-Gaza war Middle East. As ceasefire efforts advance, Iran appears increasingly sidelined, having lost key pillars of its regional influence—from Gaza and Syria to Hezbollah and its nuclear ambitions.
Dr. Robert Rabil on President Trump's Gaza Plan
President Donald Trump’s proposed plan to end the war in Gaza has generated intense debate. The initiative calls for disarming Hamas, establishing an international governing body, and rebuilding Gaza in exchange for a ceasefire and the release of all hostages. While supporters view it as a pathway to stability, critics warn it could expand Israeli control or invite international intervention with uncertain consequences.

The American-Lebanese Professor Robert Rabil, a distinguished professor of political science at Florida Atlantic University, discussed in an interview with Fadi Shahwan the true American position towards Lebanon and its ruling authorities. Behind the language of charity and rights, what is the real goal of the Muslim Brotherhood? Its own documents suggest a long-term strategy that Western governments are no longer willing to ignore.Tensions are rising as Iran tests red lines and the West weighs its response. The step taken by the House Foreign Affairs Committee in the US Congress to approve a bill that would require the president to designate the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist organization represents a new shift in how Washington deals with the organization and its branches around the world, and in its understanding of the threat it poses.
"We will cut off his hand"... a violent Iranian threat against Trump and a public confrontation that crosses red lines - Arab Studio
In this interview with Al-Mashhad (UAE), I debated a supporter of the Iranian regime on current U.S.–Iran tensions. I argued that official rhetoric from Tehran is largely performative and aimed at domestic audiences, rather than reflective of strategic reality. The discussion examined U.S. policy options and the growing internal pressures facing the Iranian regime.

The Gaza agreement is entering a critical phase amid growing concerns of its collapse, with Israel accusing Hamas of failing to implement the terms of the first phase as agreed and of not returning all the hostages' bodies, which the movement denies. The US president has intervened, threatening to disarm Hamas if it does not comply, and also condemned the summary executions carried out by the movement in the Gaza Strip.
Dr Robert Rabil on President Trump's Gaza Plan
Neither Israel nor Hamas sought to anger the US president or completely reject or oppose his plan. Both sides accepted the plan, albeit reluctantly, or rather, they agreed to some clauses while leaving others open for discussion. Hamas stated that it had agreed to nine points of Trump's plan, while the remaining points required further consideration and negotiation. Israel, for its part, said it would adopt a defensive posture and would not launch attacks in Gaza, but it did not declare an end to the conflict. So, what are the next steps?
